The Dilemma

26 Jan

This is a story about three girls Mia, Emma and Gemma. The three girls had been best friends from the first day of school.

One day Mia saw Emma and Gemma were laughing in the play- ground.  When Mia went over to them, they turned away and would not let her join the conversation.  Mia felt left out, she wanted to know what they had been discussing.

Then the bell rang, it was time for lessons , but Mia could not stop thinking about what they were saying. When the teacher had her back to the class, they would start whispering again and looking at Mia, Mia then realised that it was her they were taking about in the playground.

She found it a struggle to eat her dinner, as she could not stop thinking about what Emma and Gemma had been talking about . She wanted to tell her mum, but thought she might just tell her to ignore them, and she really wanted to know.

It was soon time for bed, but she could not sleep and she tossed and turned all night, and felt ill in the morning.

Her mum knew that something was wrong, but she did not know what.

At school they had starting talking to Mia, but she still felt that something was wrong, so at break time, she found a teacher in the hall, and told her what had been happening. She said they were probably just teasing her, but it would not be sorted out unless she spoke to them.

Mia went out into the playground and found her friends. She told them how she felt when they were talking about her and that they should all be friends. The girls said they were sorry, but sometimes they get jealous of the things that Mia does.

They all agreed to be friends and to tell each other if they are worried.

This is an excellent story Charlotte, you have used paragraphs well to organise your writing. You have conveyed how it feels to be excluded and what the effect on someone is. I hope all reading this realise how it can feel for others when they are left out.

    Hello Charlotte,

It can be a concern when someone feels others are talking about them in a possibly not nice way. In your dilemma, Mia felt uncomfortable when realising Emma and Gemma were talking about her and laughing. Mia chose a brave action by telling the others what she felt.

We all know bullying can be physical by hitting or pushing. We know name calling and making up stories can also be bullying. Some of us forget, leaving others out is also a hurtful thing to do.

    Well written, Charlotte. 🙂
